Why sleep belongs in a fitness app
Training gives your body a reason to adapt; sleep is when much of that adaptation happens. Short or broken sleep is linked to worse workouts, bigger appetite and slower recovery. That is why Zafit AI treats sleep as part of the plan and not a separate gadget. If you want the background, our guide to improving sleep for recovery covers the habits that matter most.
What the sleep screen shows
- Sleep score. A number and a label for last night, with how long you slept and a quality rating.
- Seven-day trend. A bar for each night against your sleep goal, so you can see patterns, not just one bad night.
- Log last night. Record bedtime, wake time, quality and mood in a few taps.
- Stages. Awake, REM, core and deep sleep, when your device records them. The screen notes that stages are recorded by your device.
- Estimated time asleep against your goal, and heart rate and respiratory rate readings where available.
A smart alarm and Apple Health
Zafit AI includes a smart alarm, and your activity rings and sleep sync with Apple Health on your iPhone. If you wear an Apple Watch or another device that writes sleep data to Apple Health, those nights can show up in Zafit AI without extra effort. If you do not wear anything to bed, you can still log last night by hand.
Reading the numbers sensibly
Sleep scores are estimates built from sensor data and your own entries. They are not diagnostic. A few rules of thumb:
- Look at the seven-day trend rather than a single night.
- Compare how you feel with what the score says; feelings matter.
- Change one habit at a time, such as caffeine timing or bedtime, and watch the trend.
Our article on sleep tracking, HRV, REM and recovery scores explains what each metric is and how reliable it tends to be.
Sleep and the rest of your day
This is where an all-in-one app helps. The AI Coach answers from your logs, including recent sleep, so a question such as should I train legs tomorrow takes your last few nights into account. The AI workout planner builds a training plan with rest built in, and the fasting tracker shows how the timing of your last meal lines up with bedtime. Premium adds deeper sleep tracking and recovery and strain scoring.
What a sleep tracker cannot do
An app cannot diagnose a sleep disorder. If you snore loudly with gasping, are exhausted despite enough hours in bed, or have trouble falling or staying asleep for weeks, see a doctor. Zafit AI is a wellness tool, not a medical device.
Getting started
Zafit AI is free to download on iPhone and includes sleep tracking on the free plan. Connect Apple Health if you want automatic data, or log last night manually. See pricing for what Pro and Premium add.
