What the fasting tracker includes
The Zafit AI fasting tracker is built around the intermittent fasting patterns people actually use. You choose a protocol, tap Start Fast and a timer counts toward the end of your fast. When the time is up, the app tells you that you can eat. You can end a fast early at any point; it is recorded as ended early, not hidden.
Choose a protocol
| Protocol | Fast / eat | Described in the app as |
|---|---|---|
| 12:12 | 12 hours / 12 hours | Beginner friendly |
| 14:10 | 14 hours / 10 hours | Light fasting |
| 16:8 | 16 hours / 8 hours | Most popular |
| 18:6 | 18 hours / 6 hours | Intermediate |
| 20:4 | 20 hours / 4 hours | Advanced |
| 24:0 | A full day | One meal a day, for experienced fasters |
The app can also suggest a protocol based on your BMI and goal, which you can apply or ignore. If you are new, start at 12:12 or 14:10 and work up. Our 16:8 beginner guide has a gentle first-week schedule, and the intermittent fasting guide compares the longer windows.
See your day at a glance
A 24-hour timeline shows when you are fasting and when you are eating, and an eating window card shows when you start and stop eating. Seeing it laid out helps you decide when to schedule meals and training.
Track the week and the history
Below the timer you will find this week at a glance, totals such as total fasts, longest fast and fasts this week, and a recent history. A fast that you stopped early is marked as ended early, so the history is honest rather than flattering.
Fasting works best alongside your other habits
Fasting is only a way of arranging your meals. It does not change the basics: calories still matter for weight, protein still matters for muscle, and sleep still matters for recovery. In Zafit AI the fasting tracker sits next to everything else:
- Log what you eat in your window with the AI calorie counter.
- Check your protein with the macro tracker. With fewer meals, protein is easy to under-eat.
- See how a late last meal affects your night on the sleep tracker.
Who should be careful with fasting
Fasting is not suitable for everyone. Speak to a doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes or take medication affecting blood sugar or blood pressure, have a history of an eating disorder, are underweight, or are under 18. Longer fasts such as 20:4 and 24:0 carry more risk and are for experienced fasters. Zafit AI is a wellness tool and not a medical service. If you feel unwell during a fast, stop and eat.
Is fasting better than other approaches?
For weight loss, studies that match calories between intermittent fasting and ordinary calorie control generally find similar results. Fasting can make it easier for some people to eat less and harder for others, so choose whichever pattern you can sustain. If you are undecided, our article on calorie counting versus intuitive eating offers another way to think about it.

Frequently asked questions
Does Zafit AI have an intermittent fasting timer?
Yes. Choose a protocol from 12:12 to 24:0, start a fast and the app shows your time remaining and your eating window.
Which fasting protocol should a beginner choose?
Most beginners start with 12:12 or 14:10 and work toward 16:8. Longer fasts are for experienced fasters and are not suitable for everyone.
Does the app record fasts I end early?
Yes. Each fast in your history is marked as completed or ended early.
Is intermittent fasting safe for everyone?
No. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes or a history of eating disorders, are underweight or are under 18 should talk to a doctor first.
